Android TV vs Firestick — what actually changes
The playlist does not change. The remote and the CPU do. Google TV launchers bury sideloaded apps; you may need to enable “unknown sources” per app. A Shield or a decent Sony will zap UCL ties faster than a 4K Max. Ethernet is more often built-in on a box than on a stick — use it. That single cable does more for Saturday 15:00 than a “4K IPTV” skin.

Play Store vs sideload — sports edition
TiviMate and Gala are the store names we tell people to type. If your firmware region hides them, WhatsApp us — we send a clean APK, not a “cracked premium.” Downloader-by-code culture from Firestick still works on Android TV but is easier to malware. Do not install five players “to compare” on a Saturday.

Sports pin-list on a 10-foot UI
Android TV home rows will try to steal focus with Netflix tiles. Put TiviMate or Gala on the first row. Inside the player, a “Sat 3pm” favorites group beats search. Leagues: Premier League, Champions League, NFL, NBA, UFC.
